What it looks like in the app

What kinds of jobs come up
Mostly smaller jobs of a few hours that people near you often need.
Home and repairs
Furniture assembly, a new washer for a dripping tap, hanging shelves and pictures, small repairs around the flat.
Moving and hauling
Help with a move, carrying boxes and furniture, taking items to the recycling yard or a second-hand shop.
Garden and outdoors
Mowing, trimming hedges, raking leaves, watering while people are on holiday, spring garden clean-up.
Cleaning
Regular or one-off cleaning of a home, deep cleaning before a move or after renovation.
Tutoring and teaching
School subjects, entrance exam prep, English conversation, language lessons for adults.
Pets and everything else
Dog walking, pet sitting, small services such as help with a website or a text. If you can do it, someone may be looking for it.
What is on offer varies by city and season. SkillNav cannot guarantee you will find a job straight away – it depends on what people around you are posting.
Work safely and with confidence
You may be working for people you have never met. The app gives you tools to decide.
See who you are dealing with
For the person who posted a job you can see the profile, ratings from others and whether they are verified.
Agree it in the app
Keep the conversation and the agreement in one place instead of scattered across messages.
Location only as needed
Live location is shared only while you are on your way to a job, only with the person you work with, and only until you arrive.
Report or block
If something feels wrong, report or block the person.
Ratings go both ways
Both sides are rated. People who post jobs also have a reputation to protect.
Your data stays yours
You choose which optional services are on and can delete your account and data at any time in Settings.
Money and terms
You agree the price directly with the person who posted the job and pay each other directly. According to the Terms of Use, SkillNav does not process payments between users and is not responsible for payment disputes, so agree the amount and how it is paid before you start.
The app can suggest an indicative local price for a job. That is a guide, not a fixed price list.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a CV or experience?
No. You apply with a profile where you say what you can do, and the assistant helps you write it. If you do have a CV, you can simply upload it. For many small jobs, willingness and reliability are what matter.
How does the assistant negotiate for me?
You set a minimum rate the other side never sees. The assistant agrees pay and timing within it and shows you the final deal. Nothing is binding until you both approve.
Does everyone get a fair chance?
Yes, that is how matching is designed. It looks at your skills, distance, availability, ratings and languages, and never at your name, age, nationality, photo or any disability. Newcomers without ratings still get their share of invitations, and invitations are capped so nobody is flooded. The person who posted the job always makes the final choice.
Can I just work now and then, for example after school or after my day job?
Yes. You choose jobs that fit your time. Nobody commits you to a number of hours.
How do I know whether the person who posted a job is trustworthy?
In their profile you can see ratings from people who have worked with them and whether they are verified. If something looks wrong, do not take the job, or report or block them.
How do I stay safe when I go to a job?
Read the job and the poster's ratings before you go, agree the details in the chat and let someone you trust know where you are going. If something feels wrong, leave. In an emergency call 112. Report anyone who behaves badly.
Who pays me and how?
You agree payment directly with the person who posted the job. SkillNav does not process payments between users (see the Terms of Use). Agree the amount and the way of paying before you start.
Can I work if I am not a Czech citizen?
It depends on your residence status, visa or permit. SkillNav does not check your right to work. Check your own conditions with the relevant authorities (for example the Czech Ministry of the Interior) or an adviser.
What about tax on extra income?
SkillNav does not handle your taxes. Income from side jobs may need to be declared, and depending on how much and how you work, it can matter whether it is a casual agreement or a trade licence. Ask the Czech tax office or an adviser; we cannot give tax advice.
Can I turn down a job or back out?
You apply voluntarily and nobody forces you to accept. If the conditions change or you do not feel comfortable, talk to the person in the chat, or report them.
I do not speak much Czech. Can I still use it?
Yes. The app is available in Czech, Slovak, English, German, Ukrainian, Russian and Vietnamese, and this website in Czech, English, Ukrainian, Russian and Vietnamese. What matters is that you can agree the job with the other person.
Need a hand yourself?
The same app works the other way round. Describe what you need and the assistant helps you find someone nearby.
