Cleaning is one of the most common things people book help for. Some want a regular cleaner once a week, others a one-off deep clean before handing back a rented flat or after painting.
Prices are quoted in two ways: per hour or per square metre. Independent cleaners usually charge by the hour, companies more often by area. Here is what both look like and how to compare them.
Cleaning prices per hour and per m²
These ranges are for a flat in normal condition. In Prague and Brno, expect the upper half; in smaller towns, the lower half.
| Type of cleaning | Typical price (2026) |
|---|---|
| Regular cleaning, hourly rate | 200–350 Kč/h |
| Standard cleaning, priced by area | 15–30 Kč/m² |
| Deep cleaning | 30–60 Kč/m² |
| After renovation or painting | 40–80 Kč/m² |
| Window cleaning | 100–250 Kč per window |
| Cleaner brings own products | 50–150 Kč extra |
Typical market ranges in 2026. They vary by city and job and are for orientation only, not SkillNav prices.
What a typical flat costs
Regular cleaning of a 50 m² flat, a typical 2+kk, usually takes two to three hours: around 400–1,000 Kč a visit at an hourly rate. A company pricing by area comes out at a similar figure.
A deep clean of the same flat, including windows, the inside of kitchen cupboards, bathroom grout and behind furniture, takes most of a day. Expect 1,500–3,000 Kč. Cleaning after renovation is the most expensive, because dust settles everywhere and needs several rounds.
End-of-tenancy cleaning
When you leave a rented flat, the landlord expects it back clean, and if it is not, cleaning costs may be deducted from your deposit. A deep clean before the handover usually costs less than the deduction.
Book it a week or two ahead, especially around the end of the month when many leases end. Ask for the windows, oven and fridge to be included, as these are often checked at the handover.
Hourly rate or price per m²?
An hourly rate works well when you know what you want cleaned and the flat is in good shape. You pay for the work actually done and set the priorities yourself.
A price per m² suits large one-off jobs. You know the total in advance, and the risk of the job taking longer sits with the cleaner. Ask what is included, though: windows or the oven are often extra.
What to agree up front
- What to clean and what not: windows, oven, fridge, balcony.
- Who brings cleaning products and a vacuum cleaner.
- How the cleaner gets in and who will be at home.
- Hourly or fixed price, and how you pay.
- For regular cleaning: how often, which day, and what happens if a visit is cancelled.
